Students collectively managing a real-life engineering project
Designing a functional instrumentation systems to monitor an pharma-industrial tableting process
About the project
As you probably have seen in the project video, we were asked to implement an instrumentation of a mechanical tableting press (Frogerais O360) used for research purposes at Grenoble's "Industrial Pharmacy Laboratory" mainly for testing of innovative powder compositions.
In order to be able to properly manage production processes, the monitoring of the influential parameters is essential to researchers. Therefore, solutions had to be found to accurately measure compression force and tool heating as well to properly separate pills to be analysed from the rest.
Our team consisted of members from all over the world with divers educational backgrounds, which was of great advantage in the making process.
My role was managing the project team and assuring the communication between the client and the team. Furthermore, I was in charge of the implementation of the tool heating measurement system as well as its verification and validation via testing.
